The 39th Symposium on Reliable Distributed Systems (SRDS 2020) will run pre-conference workshops (half-day or full-day) on Sept. 21th 2020. Workshops have been a successful tradition of SRDS for several years. Researchers interested in organizing a workshop on topics related to dependability and security of distributed systems are invited to submit proposals.
Extended versions of best papers from SRDS 2020 Workshops will be published at ACM Operating Systems Review.
Workshops may be half-day or full day events.
Workshop chairs are responsible for setting up an international technical program committee, independent of the one of the main conference. They may select a TPC chair(s) or chair the TPC themselves. Responsibilities of the workshop TPC chairs include preparing and spreading a call for contributions, attract high-quality submissions, set up the selection process assemble and run the workshop program.
SRDS 2020 will provide co-located workshops with the possibility of publishing their papers in a supplementary volume to the main conference proceedings. Papers in this volume will be available in the IEEE Digital Library (IEEE Xpress) where they will be indexed by all major bibliometry systems. This possibility is open to workshops who implement a peer-review selection of papers of 4 pages or more in the same format as for the main conference. The publication will be a joint responsibility between the SRDS publication chair and the workshop chairs.
Note that the publication of proceedings for the workshop is a possibility and not a requirement: workshops without published proceedings, with only abstracts, with only invited speakers, or using a mix of these formats, are also warmly welcome.
Collaborative research projects are warmly welcome to jointly organize a project meeting together with a workshop linked with the thematics of the project. The workshop chairs can offer logistical help for hosting such a meeting close to the conference venue.
Proposals must not exceed three pages in PDF and must be sent to SRDS workshop chairs João Paulo and Vijay Chidambaram (srds-2020-workshop-chairs@googlegroups.com).
Proposals should have the following structure:
